Effects of Adulterants and Selected Ingested Compounds on Drugs-of-Abuse

Adulterants such as blanching agent venture false-positive results in THC radioimmunoassays but false-negative results with FPIA and the EMIT assessment. These erroneous results are due to the direct phenomenon of agent on the reagents in the immunoassays. Adulterants that are strong oxidizing agents such as Klear (potassium nitrite), Urine Luck (PCC), and Stealth (peroxidase and hydrogen peroxide) proceedings false-negative results in the immunoassays used for showing drugs by directly destroying THC metabolites (THC-COOH).
